David Fields is a regional Account Representative with the Corporate Connections Program. In this role he works as a business consultant, providing services to increase employment opportunities for individuals served by the Tennessee Department of Human Services, Division of Rehabilitation Services. David conducts outreach and marketing activities to promote the benefits of employing people with disabilities within the business community. He provides professional development and employment services to assist Tennessee businesses in recruiting, hiring and retaining qualified employees. As a regional employment resource, David is located in the Chattanooga state office building and has been in this role since 2014.
David is a former employee of the Center for Literacy, Education and Employment (at which time the Center was named the Center for Literacy Studies). During this time, David worked with the Adult Education Program to provide professional development to Tennessee Adult Education supervisors, instructors, and paraprofessionals.
After leaving the Center for Literacy, Education and Employment, David accepted the position of Director of Development at WMMT; a community radio station and project of the Appalshop, Inc. There he managed several grant projects and was responsible for all fundraising initiatives at the station. David also served as an executive member of the Appalshop Board of Directors.
Prior to rejoining the Center for Literacy, Education and Employment, David worked as the Regulations Compliance Manager and Trade Show Manager for Intersign Corporation. David was responsible for ensuring the interior signage produced at Intersign was compliant with the regulations of the Americans with Disabilities Act, the International Building Code, the National Fire and Protection Agency, and local and state codes. He was also responsible for managing trade show logistics.
